At Chalkboard Nomads, we believe great teaching starts with inspiration and passion; and sometimes, to reignite that spark, you need to step outside the classroom and into the world.

Our Story

Chalkboard Nomads was born from years of traveling the world with students and the transformative experiences that came from teaching in communities across India and Uganda. Seeing first hand how powerful global exchanges can be for both teachers and the classrooms they serve, inspired me to create a space where educators could reconnect with their purpose through meaningful and immersive travel.

At Chalkboard Nomads, we design experiences that blend cultural exploration, hands-on collaboration with local schools, and reflective accredited professional growth. Our journeys help teachers step outside their routines, deepen their global perspective, and return home renewed, inspired, and ready to make a greater impact in their own classrooms.

Meet Mr. Belzer

A Chalkboard Nomad's Journey

I’m Andrew Belzer, a tri-citizen educator (American, British, and Colombian) with eight years of middle school teaching experience and a global background that includes volunteer work in Uganda, Kenya, India, Bolivia, and Argentina. With a master’s in Hispanic Literature and certifications across multiple subjects, I’ve seen firsthand how teaching and learning abroad accelerate a teacher’s growth and dramatically enrich student outcomes.

Global experiences made me a more confident, creative, and effective educator. This is the reason I believe every teacher deserves these kinds of opportunities that reignite their passion and expand their perspective. When I’m not teaching or traveling, you’ll find me SCUBA diving, behind a camera, or playing soccer.
